Somewhat Fat-Ass Style Event to kick-off 2021! Very LIMITED aid (unmanned, water only), no chip timing, Post-Race food will be available.

Shirts and Medals will now be given at WinterRock!!!

Start & Time Limit

Both races start at the Outlet Channel Shelter.
Short pre-race briefing at 10:50am
25K – 11am
12K – 11:20am
Race cutoff is 4pm.


Elk River Hiking Trail. Accurately measured forest trail winding through unique limestone bluffs, rock formations & picturesque vistas. Mostly single-track, out & back, very rocky, no long hills. Home of the FlatRock 50/25K

Aid Stations
3 Aid Stations in the 25K and 1 (turnaround) in the 12K. Aid stations are approximately 3.5-4 miles apart, are all unmanned, with only water available. No cups will be available, so you MUST carry a handheld bottle with you on the course. If you need fuel (calories) of any type, YOU are responsible to pack it with you, as there will be none available on the course.

Check-In/Staging Area

Race headquarters will be located in the Outlet Channel Group Shelter (north side of the Elk City Lake dam).

Postponement Policy

PLEASE NOTE: If there is any kind of substantial freezing/frozen moisture on the trail, we will postpone this event until we can run it WITHOUT the aforementioned additional risk involved. Status updates of the trail condition will be communicated through email and Facebook.
